Terms of Service
Effective July 21, 2026
What Proxy is
Proxy is a private, invitation-only coordination service operated by an individual for personal use among family and friends. It relays and records coordination messages between participants under per-relationship permission rules. It is an experiment, not a commercial product, and is provided free of charge.
Participation
- Participation is by personal invitation from the operator and requires your consent (for SMS participants, replying YES to the introductory message).
- You may leave at any time: reply STOP (SMS), or ask the operator to remove you. Leaving pauses the relationship and notifies your counterpart.
- You agree to use the service only for personal coordination with people you know.
The honest fine print
- Delegated messages. Some messages are prepared automatically on a participant's standing instructions. Nothing binding occurs without that participant's explicit approval, and the shared record shows which is which.
- No warranty. The service is provided "as is," may go down, lose messages, or be discontinued at any time.
- Limitation of liability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages arising from use of the service — the remedy for any dissatisfaction is to stop using it (and perhaps text the operator directly).
Privacy
Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy; SMS practices in the SMS Program Disclosure. Both are part of these terms.
Changes
These terms may be updated; material changes will be communicated to active participants directly.
